Who we are

This site is operated by Improve Photography LLC, which is responsible for the personal information described here. Contact: store@improvephotography.com. This policy covers Improve Photography Plus; the main improvephotography.com site has its own policy.

What we collect

• Account: your name, email address, a securely hashed password (if you set one), and whether your email is confirmed.
• Sign-in sessions: a session record with its expiry, and the IP address and browser type used to sign in, to keep you signed in and protect your account.
• Membership: your plan, its status and renewal or end date, and your Stripe customer and subscription IDs. For memberships billed outside Stripe, the email address and billing records we hold on file.
• Learning progress: which lessons you have started or finished and where you stopped, so “Continue learning” works.
• Account emails: a log of the emails we send you (address, subject, type, time and delivery status).
• Security: short-lived counters that limit repeated sign-in and email requests.
• Messages you send us, for example to support.

What we don't collect

We never see or store your card number; Stripe handles payment details. This site shows no advertising and loads no analytics or advertising trackers.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in: a secure, HTTP-only session cookie that expires after 30 days or when you sign out. The site doesn't work without it, so it can't be switched off. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

How we use your information

• To provide your membership: sign-in, access to courses and downloads, progress, and billing.
• To send account emails: sign-in links, email confirmations and password resets. Stripe sends payment receipts. We don't send marketing from this site.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse and fraud.
• To keep the records needed for tax and accounting.

Who processes it for us

• Cloudflare hosts the website, its database and the course videos, and sends account emails.
• Stripe processes card payments and manages card subscriptions and receipts.
• PayPal processes some existing billing arrangements.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share information that identifies you with third parties for their own marketing. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to prevent fraud, or to a buyer if all or part of the business is sold.

Where it is stored

Our providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.

How long we keep it

Account, membership and progress information is kept while your account exists. Payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Session records end when you sign out or they expire, and security counters last minutes. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account, sessions and progress, keeping only what we must keep by law.

Your choices and rights

You can update your name on your Account page, and ask for a copy of your information, a correction, or deletion of your account by emailing store@improvephotography.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law.

Security

Connections are encrypted, passwords are stored hashed, and video and downloads are served only to signed-in members through short-lived links. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We will post changes on this page.
