My Mentor: Brian McGuckin

Hey guys!  Thank you for joining my mentoring program!  I’m so stoked to be working with you guys and helping in any way possible.

How to Contact Me

For now, most of our contact with each other will be via Facebook and email.  We will eventually move the community over to a forum within IP+, so more info will come about that as it becomes available.

The first thing I’d like you to do is join our Mentoring with Brian McGuckin Facebook page right away.  This is where all of us will be hanging out.  This Facebook group is where you guys can bounce ideas off of each other, pose questions for group discussion, share your monthly photo challenge images, etc.  It’ll be a pretty cool way for us to support each other throughout the process.  You guys all have so much to add to this for each other.  🙂

For private communication with me, we will be using email for the time being.  Please email me when:

  • you’re ready for me to view your portfolio (details below)
  • you want feedback on images
  • you want business advice
  • you want to set up a Skype date

My email address is [email protected].

Getting to Know You

The second thing I’d like you to do is fill out this survey, which will allow me to get to know you a bit.

Portfolio Review

As part of your mentoring program with me, I’d like to offer you 3 formal portfolio reviews:  one at the start of your mentorship, another at your 6 month anniversary, and the third at the end of your year.

Please take some time over the next few days to put together a portfolio of approximately 10 images, upload your images to a Google Drive folder, and email the link to me along with any information you’d like to share about the images, things you’d like particular feedback on, etc.  If you need help with this process, please let me know.

Monthly Photo Challenge

Starting May 1, I will post a new photo challenge here each month.  While working on the challenge, please ask for ideas on the community Facebook page, message me for help in designing your photo, and then get out and shoot!  When you’re done, submit the photo on the community page so everyone can enjoy it, and ALSO message it to me so I can send some private feedback.

I’m so honored to be working with you guys!  Let’s get started!
